Scope, login and the correct notice
Updated on 20 April 2026, the twenty-page guide covers notifying ACRA of redemption of redeemable preference shares and reflecting changes in capital and holdings. Log in with Corppass Business User credentials, check the entity dashboard and position-holder status, and select Manage, Update shares information and Notice of redemption of redeemable preference shares. Start the notice or continue a draft. The introductory reminders point capital reductions to the reduction service, shareholder particulars to their own update service, and other transactions such as redenomination and conversion to General Lodgement.
Fully paid shares and redemption particulars
Verify the company and enter the effective redemption date, number of preference shares redeemed and method of redemption. The guide expressly requires the shares to be fully paid before redemption. Its review screenshot illustrates redemption out of profits and an amount of profit; these are example particulars, not evidence that all redemptions must use profits or that the displayed amount applies. The dropdown is not expanded into a full statutory explanation, so the guide should be used as a filing workflow alongside the applicable redemption requirements.
Update preference-share capital for each currency
Select the affected currency and update the preference-share quantity, issued capital and paid-up capital after redemption, then Save. To correct a saved capital record, use Expand all and Edit. Use Update other currency for another affected capital currency, enter its information and Save. Continue only after the resulting company-level records reflect all affected currencies; entering the redemption quantity on the entity page is a separate step from updating these totals.
Individual, corporate and group holdings
In Shareholding details, choose Update individual/corporate shares, select the shareholder and Save. The separate Update group shares option lets you select a shareholder group and Save. Enter the affected currency and the holder’s share quantity and paid-up capital after redemption, then save the updated record. Group holdings are an explicit alternative in this guide and should not be omitted merely because the individual/corporate example is shown first.
Trust holdings and further updates
Use Add shares held in trust where appropriate and update the trust name on the same page. Update other currency enters additional currencies for the same holder; Update other individual/corporate shareholder moves to other affected holders. Existing holdings can be changed through Edit on the currency accordion. Check the share summary and then proceed to Review and confirm. These steps preserve the distinction between company capital totals, group records and each shareholder’s holdings.
Declaration, submission and confirmation
Review the redemption method, date and quantity, company capital before and after, and affected holdings before and after. Complete the declaration that information is true and correct to the filer’s knowledge and that the filer is authorised, including the warning about false or misleading information, then Submit. Successful submission brings an acknowledgement and a Bizfile Inbox notification confirming updated share information. Draft saving does not replace submission. All example identities and amounts are dummy data; the PDF supplies no fee or statutory deadline.
