Applicant and sponsoring organisation
The Singapore EP is for foreign professionals, managers and executives with a Singapore job offer who meet its eligibility criteria. The employer or appointed employment agent applies, rather than the candidate submitting an employer-sponsored application independently. An overseas company without a Singapore-registered office requires a local sponsor.
Salary and validity
The fixed salary is benchmarked to the top third of local PMET pay and increases with age. The key-facts page starts at S$5,600 and reaches S$10,700 for candidates in their mid-forties, with higher requirements in financial services; consult the detailed eligibility page for individual ages and announced future changes. First-time Singapore EPs last up to two years and renewals up to three. Eligible experienced technology professionals in shortage occupations may obtain five years. Renewal requires a fresh eligibility assessment.
Costs and statutory features
No foreign-worker quota or levy applies. Eligible family members may qualify for separate passes. Medical insurance is the employer’s choice for Singapore EP holders, and the holder may need to pay income tax. The pass remains subject to the Conditions of Work Pass and Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.
Before applying and before arrival
Advertise and fairly consider candidates where required, check eligibility and prepare the application documents. Submit the Singapore EP application and wait for the outcome. After approval, obtain the IPA and ensure the candidate complies with current entry requirements before travelling.
After arrival and during the pass
Issue the pass and read the notification letter to see whether fingerprints and photo registration are required. Attend the registration appointment if instructed. Card delivery follows about five working days after registration or document verification. Subsequently update changed company or holder information, renew before expiry, replace a lost, stolen or damaged card, and cancel when the holder no longer works for the employer.
