The two simplifications
The infographic, correct as at 9 January 2024, describes opting into income pre-filling through an operator and an automatic expense deduction of 60% of annual gross driving income. Income pre-filling lets the driver view and verify figures; it is not proof that every pre-filled amount is correct.
All four filing steps
First opt in with the operator. Second log into myTax Portal during the source’s stated filing period of 1 March–18 April. Third verify driving income and declare other income, with the 60% deduction automatically allowed. Fourth submit if there are no further changes. These are the graphic’s 2024 instructions, rather than a promise that future-year filing dates can never change.
Corrections and actual expenses
The footnote permits correcting pre-filled income where necessary and claiming actual business expenses if they exceed 60% of gross driving income. The percentage is an expense deduction, not a 60% tax discount. The actual-expense alternative should not be combined with a duplicate deemed claim.
Records, NFS and stated benefits
The graphic highlights simplified records using listings such as expense lists rather than source receipts, reduced errors and convenient filing. It says no return is needed where a No Filing Service notification has been received; participation in pre-filling alone is not that notification. It also says pre-filling may facilitate future self-employed grants, if any, rather than promising entitlement to a grant. It links go.gov.sg/iras-prefilling for details.
