The year and three phases
The three-page infographic is correct as at 16 February 2026 and covers income earned in 2025, reported from 1 March to 18 April 2026. It addresses notification, filing and after-filing stages, with the New Taxpayer Journey video and step-by-step guide as further help. These dates belong to YA 2026.
Three notification types
Type 1 is Direct Notice of Assessment: no return required for YA 2026, with IRAS notifying if action is needed. Type 2 is No-Filing Service: check income/reliefs between 1 March and 18 April and file by 18 April only if changes are needed; otherwise IRAS finalises using its records. Type 3 requires login and filing within that period. An employer’s AIS income transmission does not fulfil an employee’s Type 3 filing obligation.
Login and missing AIS information
Select Personal Tax at myTax Portal, log in with Singpass and use Individuals > File Income Tax Return. The guide says citizens, permanent residents and FIN holders may apply for Singpass. If AIS employer information is absent from Employment Income and Expenses, use the option that the employer will transmit it and you need not report it yourself; IRAS includes the employer transmission when finalising. Confirm actual AIS participation instead of manually duplicating the same employment income.
Reliefs and total cap
The examples are spouse, qualifying child, parent, life-insurance, SRS, grandparent-caregiver and NSman relief. Use the Relief Checker to assess eligibility. The S$80,000 personal-relief cap applies to total relief claimed, not separately to each relief. The infographic lists examples, not automatic entitlement.
One re-file and one bill amendment
An online return may be re-filed once by 18 April. After receiving a bill, use Amend Tax Bill once within 30 days of its date. Most bills arrive from late April onwards; for loan/grant applications, consider payslips/IR8A from the employer, CPF statements, or the consolidated statement and acknowledgement after filing, subject to the receiving organisation’s requirements.
Assistance hours in this guide
Online chat is listed 8am–5pm Monday–Friday except public holidays, and 8am–1pm on Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year eves. Launch the IRAS bot through Chat with IRAS at the website bottom-right. These are the dated guide’s channels/hours, not a newly checked live availability promise.
