Refresher training at the accountant’s own cost
PAOC’s 3 July 2015 order under section 52(2)(g) required Sri Murali s/o Sinnothei Renganathan to undertake refresher training as soon as practicable and no later than 2 August 2016, at his own cost. At minimum the course had to include SSA 240 and SSA 300–330. The notice does not replace the specified standards with a general training suggestion.
Nine engagements meeting the turnover threshold
Work on any nine audit engagements with annual turnover greater than S$10 million, carried out within one year starting 3 August 2015, had to be reviewed by another public accountant before sign-off. The requirement applied whether he signed personally or for an accounting firm, corporation or LLP. The threshold is strictly greater than S$10 million.
Reviewer approval and costs
The reviewer’s name had to be provided to ACRA for agreement by 3 August 2015. A separate section 52(3) order required S$9,973.05 for costs and expenses incidental to the proceedings. Gazette notice 1935 was first published on 5 August 2015 at 5 pm. It supplies these conditions without describing the underlying misconduct.
